WHAT MAKES THE PROJECT HYDROPLANE RACING PROGRAM SO EFFECTIVE?
The Project Hydroplane Racing Program (PHRP) is a project-based instructional method based in constructivist philosophy, which theorizes that learning occurs when students are actively involved in a process as opposed to just passively receiving information. The program is designed to enhance the learning experiences of students from the General Education population (2nd through 12th grades) and to empower those students from the Special Education population. Encompassed within both federal and state-generated standards-based curricula, the PHRP integrates the content areas of math, science (inquiry) and literacy (thinking and reasoning).

"Students become fully engrossed in the program. What amazes me is how the same students who were either sleeping in class or being disruptive are not only actively engaged, but leading other students."
